An advanced nurse practitioner is a nurse with post-graduate education and training in nursing. Nurses practicing at this level may work in either a specialist or generalist capacity. Mill Lane Surgery has an ANP currently working in the practice. The doctors will still triage the patients call and if appropriate they will book patients in with the ANP for a face to face consultation where she is able to carry out examinations and prescribe medications.
